Non-slip bath coating for London Apprentice homes

What a repair can’t fix

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths

About our non-slip bath coating in London Apprentice

It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. If you’re dealing with bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, we can help, on wet room floors (ask us), enamelled baths and shower trays alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we have gone. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

How it works

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow a few hours.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, usually overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Common problems we fix in London Apprentice

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • If travel is included in the price

10 questions to ask before you book

Prices and what affects them

We charge the same across the UK, including London Apprentice. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

London Apprentice: your questions answered

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

What does non-slip bath coating cost?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes London Apprentice. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in London Apprentice as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Repair or replace: which is better?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.
