About our non-slip bath coating in Marsden

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We are often asked to fix resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten, in enamelled baths, acrylic baths and wet room floors (ask us).

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

What we do, step by step

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Questions from Marsden

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across South Tyneside.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Do you cover Marsden?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Marsden and the rest of South Tyneside. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Prices and what affects them

We charge the same across the UK, including Marsden. What changes the price is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

When to call us in Marsden

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Marsden as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

For anyone letting property in or around Marsden, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

Why repair rather than replace?

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why book with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • No need to remove anything
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

See our prices page.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
