Our technicians come to Plasmarl for clear non-slip coatings for baths and shower trays. Nothing is taken out, with a one-year guarantee.
- Safety for older or less mobile people

- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet

About our non-slip bath coating in Plasmarl
It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. If you’re dealing with bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and worn-out textured areas, we can usually put it right, on acrylic baths, wet room floors (ask us) and enamelled baths alike.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

When a repair is not the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
What we work on
- Shower trays
- Enamelled baths
- Resurfaced baths
- Acrylic baths
- Wet room floors (ask us)
The process
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.
- We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
- We mask out the area to be treated.
- We put on the clear non-slip coating.
- We lift the masking for a clean edge.
- We leave it to cure, generally overnight.
How to prepare
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Related advice
What non-slip bath coating costs
Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:
- How much damage there is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The type of damage
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Details of any past repairs
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Natural light rather than flash
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
Should you replace it?
The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
