Repair or replace: which is better?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Non-slip bath coating in Rhondda without replacing anything

It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, enamelled baths and wet room floors (ask us), and the jobs we see most are resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

How we price non-slip bath coating

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower tray, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Landlord and trade work in Rhondda

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Rhondda as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Honest limits

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Shower trays
  • Acrylic baths

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
