Non-slip bath coating near Terriers

Non-slip bath coating in Terriers, done in place

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We work on shower trays, resurfaced baths and enamelled baths, and common reasons people contact us are resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

What a repair can’t fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What we’re called out for in Terriers

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas

Choosing a repair company

Should you replace it?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Terriers. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Same prices wherever you are

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Terriers as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Your questions about non-slip bath coating in Terriers

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is a non-slip bath easy to clean?

Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Do you cover the entire of Buckinghamshire?

All of Buckinghamshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Do you come to Terriers?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Terriers for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

What non-slip bath coating costs

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. Try to include:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • What it’s made of, if you know

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, normally overnight.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
