Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Non-slip bath coating in Test Valley without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. We work on wet room floors (ask us), shower trays and enamelled baths, and the jobs we see most are a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and worn-out textured areas.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Common problems we fix in Test Valley

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

How the visit works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, generally overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How we price non-slip bath coating

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed price

You can generally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower tray
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
