Non-slip bath coating in Tonteg without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. Whether it’s a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten, we can help, on shower trays, acrylic baths and resurfaced baths alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Repairing versus replacing in Tonteg

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower tray, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Honest limits

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Tonteg: your questions answered

What information do you need?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Will I see the coating?

Very little: the treated area looks slightly matt.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

How to compare quotes

What non-slip bath coating costs

There is no area surcharge for Tonteg. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Natural light rather than flash

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in Tonteg

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Tonteg use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
