Non-slip bath coating in Top o' th' Meadows without replacing anything

It suits older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We’re frequently asked to fix worn-out textured areas and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, on shower trays, wet room floors (ask us) and acrylic baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths

Landlord and trade work in Top o' th' Meadows

For anyone letting property in or around Top o' th' Meadows, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Should you replace it?

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

See our prices page.

The process

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Make sure the area is dry

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

What non-slip bath coating costs

There is no charge for travel to Top o' th' Meadows. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Any details about the material
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

When to call us in Top o' th' Meadows
