Non-slip bath coating in Warfield Park without replacing anything

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. We’re often asked to fix resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and worn-out textured areas, on shower trays, enamelled baths and resurfaced baths.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

What we are called out for in Warfield Park

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten

10 questions to ask before booking

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Prices and what affects them

You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths
  • Shower trays

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Warfield Park questions

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What happens after I send pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Will I see the coating?

Very little: the treated area looks slightly matt.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

What does non-slip bath coating cost?

Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your RG42 postcode.
