Non-slip bath coating for Wimboldsley homes

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Wimboldsley

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We’re often asked to fix bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, across wet room floors (ask us), acrylic baths and resurfaced baths.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cheshire East. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Enamelled baths
  • Shower trays
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

How the visit works

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, usually overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Repair or replace in Wimboldsley?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What non-slip bath coating costs

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Send photos for a quote

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we are called out for in Wimboldsley

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Wimboldsley: your questions answered

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath or shower tray and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do you work in Wimboldsley?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Wimboldsley and the rest of Cheshire East. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Usually, yes. The old repair comes out first.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
