Bath and surface repairs in B34

Live in B34? We cover Buckland End, Shard End and Castle Bromwich and every street in between, repairing in place.

Bath repair across B34: what to expect

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. We are frequently asked to fix a kit repair that didn’t last and cracks in an acrylic bath, in acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which typically takes two to three hours for most chips. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

What it costs in B34

Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Landlords, agents and businesses in B34

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

What a repair can’t fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Questions from B34

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes, we do this often. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Is a bath repair permanent?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.
