Our bath repair service in BN7

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the repaired area is colour matched so it blends in. We are often asked to fix impact holes in acrylic and a cracked acrylic bath, on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes two to three hours for most chips. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Cost

Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for BN7. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Something in shot to show the size

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place.

What your quote should include

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • What prep work is covered
  • How long it needs to cure
