Bath repair across E18: what to expect
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and holes from dropped items.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.
What it costs in E18

When a repair isn’t the answer
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
What we’re called out for in E18
Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, often before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Deep scratches in acrylic
Landlords, agents and businesses in E18
Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one generally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
