Bath repair across IP27: what to expect
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site. Common call-outs are for rusty patches near the plughole and snagging damage from a refit, across acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Cost
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why book with us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Near you in Brandon

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
Common problems we fix in IP27
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Holes from dropped items
- Chips under the taps
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
What affects the price in IP27
Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for IP27. What changes the price is:
- The material
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How much damage there is
- The colour and finish to match
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for IP27. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Where you are, by postcode
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
When we’d advise against a repair
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
Questions from IP27
How soon can you come?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
