Need a repair in KT16?

Our bath repair service in KT16

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. Common call-outs are for a kit repair that didn’t last and rust by the waste and overflow, in roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and acrylic.

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Cost

Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in KT16 as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

How the damage happens

A cracked acrylic bath usually wasn’t supported properly. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Honest limits

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

KT16: your questions answered

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Surrey, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
