About bath repair in ME14
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. We’re often asked to fix rusty patches near the plughole and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, in whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes a few hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
What you will pay
Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
What you get with us
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Same prices wherever you are

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Repairing versus replacing
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is.

Honest limits
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
Signs you need bath repair
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Look out for any of the following:
- Damage beneath the taps
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Rusty patches near the plughole
Your questions about bath repair in ME14
How much does bath repair cost in ME14?
Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You will get a fixed figure before booking.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Are there extra charges for ME14?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.
