How bath repair works in PO40
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, usually in a single visit. We work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are damage beneath the taps and chips caused by builders.
When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the next day.
Prices in PO40
Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Local landmarks in Freshwater
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to The Red Lion pub, All Saints' Church and All Saints Church of England Primary School. A little further out are Yarmouth Castle (1.9 miles north-east) and Ferguson Family Museum (0.7 miles north-east). For a walk, there’s Lymington and Keyhaven Marshes Nature Reserve and Afton Down.
- Parks and local facilities nearby include Medina (0.8 miles west)
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit.

What affects the price in PO40
Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many items we do on one visit
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How many areas need work
A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- Where you are, by postcode
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A picture taken from further back
- Details of any past repairs
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.
Honest limits
Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Common questions in PO40
Is a bath repair durable?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
Do you work in PO40?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to PO40. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work. It clears as the materials cure.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
What happens if you find more damage?
Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.
