Our bath repair service in RH9
We’ve repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. All of it is repaired where the bath stands. Common call-outs are for rusty patches near the plughole and snagging damage from a refit, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel.
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
What you’ll pay
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Normally one visit, start to finish
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- We leave the room as we found it

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The material and finish
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Send pictures for a quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Natural light rather than flash
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
When a repair is not the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
RH9 questions
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
When can I have a bath again?
Most baths can be used the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Do you come to RH9?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to RH9 for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
