Bath repair at your home in RM1
Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. There is no plumbing to disconnect, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. We’re often asked to fix a hole punched through by something heavy and cracks in an acrylic bath, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel.
Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Cost

For landlords and businesses
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in RM1 as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Signs you need bath repair
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
The things clients typically mention when they call are:
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Chips under the taps
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
RM1 questions
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in RM1.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK, so RM1 is covered. Prices don’t change with location.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.
