Bath repair at your home in RM12
You do not need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. We work on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and a chipped rim or side.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
What it costs in RM12
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Local landmarks in Hornchurch
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to J.J. Moon's pub, Langtons Infant School and Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College, among other places. Nearby too are Saint George's Church (within half a mile south) and St. Andrew's Park (0.7 miles north-east). The nearest railway station is Emerson Park station, about 0.7 miles north. A little further out are St George's Hospital (0.9 miles south) and Hornchurch Urban District (0.5 miles north). The countryside around Hornchurch includes Hornchurch Cutting.
Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Honest limits
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
Signs you need bath repair
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What the surface is made of
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Quotes from your photos
Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
- A photo taken from further back
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
RM12: your questions answered
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
You will get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
In most cases. Send us a photo of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.
How quickly can you book me in?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Is there a call-out fee?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
What do you need from me?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
