About bath repair in SE5
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about rust spots around the plughole and deep scratches in acrylic.
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, including clearing up.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the day after.
What you will pay
Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
What you get with us

Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Have new chips seen to early
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.
Honest limits
Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
How the damage happens
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Chips under the taps
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Chips along the edge of the bath
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
