Our bath repair service in SM2
We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. Each is repaired in place. We regularly repair acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and chips caused by builders.
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
Prices in SM2
Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for SM2. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- What the surface is made of
- How hard the colour is to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Send photos for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
How the damage happens
Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that aren’t adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex.
Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
- A hole punched through by something heavy
Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.
