How bath repair works in TF7

We have repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. All of it is repaired where the bath stands with a one-year guarantee. We are frequently asked to fix a chip where the taps sit and a chipped rim or side, across acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

How the damage happens

A cracked acrylic bath usually wasn’t supported properly. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips on the rim or sides

When a repair is not the answer

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Landlord and trade work in TF7

For anyone letting property in or around TF7, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Repair or replace?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim usually crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it.
