How bath repair works in WF11
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include scratches you can feel with a fingernail and a chip where the taps sit, on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and acrylic.
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready to use.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Repairs by material
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to WF11. The price depends on:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material and finish
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Doing more than one item at once
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for WF11. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Any details about the material
- Details of any past repairs
Most clients in WF11 get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Repairing versus replacing
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead.
What your quote should include
- What aftercare is recommended
- How the colour is matched
- How your room will be protected
- How soon you can use it again
Honest limits
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
How to care for the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.
