About our shower tray repair in Ash

We check the tray before repairing it: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, otherwise any crack returns. We’ll explain what we find. We regularly repair stone resin, ceramic and enamelled steel, and the jobs we see most are scratches in the surface and a cracked shower tray.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Common questions in Ash

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire shower tray and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can a stained tray be refinished?

Yes. Resurfacing gives a worn tray an even, clean finish.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How do I get a price for shower tray repair in Ash?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your TN15 postcode.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Are there extra charges for Ash?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Repairs by material

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Chips can rust if they’re left, so early repairs help.

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Landlord and trade work in Ash

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Kent and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What shower tray repair costs

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire shower tray
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, including clearing up.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the entire tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can normally be used the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace in Ash?

Trays sit under the screen and tiles, so taking one out disturbs a lot. A repair keeps everything as it is. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why Ash customers choose us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

See our prices page.

How to care for the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Do not stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach
  • Ventilate the room after showers

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.

Act on split sealant early. Water gets behind and under the tray and can damage the floor below.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • A tray broken in more than one place

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
