Battersea: your questions answered
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
When can I use the shower again?
You’ll get the exact time when we finish.
Can I keep using a cracked tray?
It’s best to stop using it until it’s checked, because water may be getting underneath.
What happens if you find more damage?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
How quickly can you book me in?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Shower tray repair at your home in Battersea
You do not always need a new tray. If it’s solid underneath, it can generally be repaired in place, saving you the cost and mess of a new one. If you are dealing with staining and dullness across the tray and a tray that flexes, we can help, on cast iron, acrylic and enamelled steel alike.
Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

When to call us in Battersea
Rigid trays don’t bend, they crack when they sit on an uneven or poorly supported floor. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.
Look out for these signs:
- Chips caused during fitting
- Scratches from cleaning or grit
- A tray that creaks or moves underfoot
- Chips or cracks by the plughole
What your quote should include
- Whether the price covers travel
- How your room will be protected
- What preparation is included
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many items we do on one visit
- How hard the colour is to match
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Battersea. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Details of any past repairs
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- The material, if you know it
Email us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SW11 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
How it works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
- We clean and prepare the damaged area or the entire tray.
- We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
- The repair is colour-matched, or the entire tray gets a new finish.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, you can use the shower.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Open a window if you can

For landlords and businesses
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Honest limits
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
- A tray that moves underfoot
- Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Enamelled steel
- Acrylic
- Stone resin
- Ceramic
- Cast iron
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Repair or replace: which is better?
The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. A repair is one visit. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to look after the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Check the seal every few months
- Rinse away soap after showering
- Stick to gentle cleaners
- Store bottles off the tray
Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and reseal when it starts to fail.
Don’t keep using a cracked tray. Water can get through to the floor and walls, and the damage below isn’t visible.
