Trusted shower tray repair in Beech Hill

Shower tray repair in Beech Hill, done in place

Every crack has a cause, and we find it first. If the tray moves, the support is fixed or flagged before we repair it, so the crack doesn’t come back. We regularly repair ceramic, stone resin and cast iron, and people most frequently call us about movement when you stand on it and a damaged area around the waste.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Signs you need shower tray repair in Beech Hill

A tired-looking tray is often the result of years of cleaning: limescale, harsh chemicals and abrasive pads wear the finish away.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Damage around the waste
  • Staining and dullness across the tray
  • Chips caused during fitting
  • A tray that flexes

Our hiring checklist

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface, tidy-up included.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the entire tray.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. The repair is colour matched, or the whole tray gets a new finish.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can typically be used the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear the area around the damage

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic trays are lighter and slightly flexible, so good support matters. We repair cracks and scratches.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Beech Hill. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How hard the colour is to match

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Beech Hill. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Email us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Beech Hill, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Trays sit under the screen and tiles, so taking one out disturbs a lot. Repairing it avoids that disruption. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Store bottles off the tray
  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Don’t use strong acids or bleach
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Give the repair its full curing time before showering. After that, gentle cleaning and good ventilation keep it in good shape.

Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.

FAQs for Beech Hill

Is it OK to use a cracked tray?

It’s best to stop using it until it’s checked, because water may be getting underneath.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

When can I use the shower again?

Normally by the following day. We’ll confirm before we leave.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you make an old tray look new?

Yes. A full resurface makes a tired tray look fresh.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Honest limits

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
