Shower tray repair in Bickley Town

Shower tray repair in Bickley Town without replacing anything

Shower tray repairs are one of our most common jobs. Chips by the waste, cracks across the base and dull, stained surfaces are all things we fix in place. We work on acrylic, stone resin and cast iron, and people most frequently call us about snagging damage in a new bathroom and chipped corners or rims.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Replace failing sealant promptly
  • Rinse the tray after each shower

Give the repair its full curing time before showering. After that, gentle cleaning and good ventilation keep it in good shape.

Act on split sealant early. It lets water behind the tray and can cause damage underneath.

What happens on the day

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the whole tray.
  5. Once cured, typically by the day after, you can use the shower.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so a firm base is essential. We repair cracks and scratches.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

How we price shower tray repair

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any details about the material
  • A photo taken from further back

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.
