Need shower tray repair in Heathlane?

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we handle shower tray repair in Heathlane

The first thing we do is check the tray: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, otherwise any crack returns. We will explain what we find. Whether it’s damage from a refit or building work and edge chips from dropped bottles, we can help, whatever the material.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Heathlane and across Shropshire.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we work on in Heathlane

  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin
  • Acrylic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron

What shower tray repair costs

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire shower tray, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

What we are called out for in Heathlane

A tired-looking tray is frequently the result of years of cleaning: abrasive pads, strong chemicals and limescale strip the surface finish.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Scratches in the surface
  • Chips on the edges
  • Movement when you stand on it
  • A cracked shower tray

What your quote should include

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

Choosing a repair company

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, tidy-up included.

  1. We protect the floor and the enclosure.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. We refinish the surface to match the tray.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Ensure the area is dry

Get a quote

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tray normally involves removing the screen and tiling, preparing a new base and re-tiling. A repair or resurface keeps all of that in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Repairs by material

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are rigid and slim. They need a flat, solid base, and repairs are matched to the gel coat.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Do not ignore a tray that flexes
  • Rinse away soap after showering
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

Do not keep using a cracked tray. Water may be getting under the tray, and the damage below isn’t visible.

Heathlane: your questions answered

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How much does shower tray repair cost in Heathlane?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you fix a cracked tray?

Frequently. If the tray moves, the support needs fixing first.
