Shower tray repair for Kingsbridge homes

How we handle shower tray repair in Kingsbridge

Before repairing a crack, we find out why it happened. If the tray moves, the support is fixed or flagged before we repair it, so the crack doesn’t come back. We regularly repair acrylic, enamelled steel and stone resin, and the jobs we see most are a crack across the base and snagging damage in a new bathroom.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

How we price shower tray repair

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A wider photo showing the whole shower tray
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Details of any past repairs

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Rinse away soap after showering
  • Ventilate the room after showers
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray

Give the repair its full curing time before showering. After that, mild cleaners and good ventilation are all it needs.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water may be getting under the tray, and the damage below isn’t visible.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so good support matters. We repair cracks and scratches.

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it isn’t: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. Repairing it takes one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Kingsbridge. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We ensure the tray doesn’t flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. The repair is colour matched, or the whole tray gets a new finish.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is usually usable the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
