Trusted shower tray repair in Kirby Cane

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are heavy and rigid with a gel-coat finish. They crack if the base is not fully supported, and chips can be filled and matched.

Shower tray repair in Kirby Cane without replacing anything

If the whole tray looks tired, we can resurface it, giving it a fresh, even finish. We regularly repair stone resin, ceramic and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are scratches in the surface and damage from a refit or building work.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Questions from Kirby Cane

What happens next?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Can I keep using a cracked tray?

Only if you’re sure it is not leaking. Look for damp or stains below.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

How long before I can shower?

You will get the exact time when we finish.

Do you cover Kirby Cane?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Kirby Cane. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What does shower tray repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Kirby Cane. What changes the price is:

  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it is not: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. Repairing it takes one visit. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Replace failing sealant promptly
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, so they cannot be knocked over.

Failed sealant around a tray should be replaced quickly. It lets water behind the tray and can cause damage underneath.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We make sure the tray does not flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is usually usable the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
