Trusted shower tray repair in Lach Dennis

Shower tray repair at your home in Lach Dennis

A cracked or chipped shower tray doesn’t always need replacing. If it’s firmly supported, we can repair it where it is, which is far less work than a replacement. We work on acrylic, stone resin and enamelled steel, and the jobs we see most are chips or cracks by the plughole and cracks running from the waste.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We check the tray for movement first.
  2. We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
  3. We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
  4. The repair is shaped, colour matched and finished.
  5. It’s left to cure, usually until the following day.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Lach Dennis. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Where you are, by postcode

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What your shower tray is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so good support matters. We repair cracks and scratches.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

What a repair cannot fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder
  • Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Ceramic
  • Cast iron
  • Enamelled steel
  • Stone resin
  • Acrylic

Do you need shower tray repair in Lach Dennis?

On timber floors, movement can crack a tray, especially if the tray wasn’t bedded properly. On solid floors, cracks generally point to an uneven base.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Scuffs and light scratches
  • A tray that flexes
  • Chipped corners or rims
  • Damage around the waste

What to look for in a quote

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

Why repair rather than replace?

The tray is usually the last thing fitted and the first thing tiled up to, so replacing one disturbs a lot around it. Repairing it avoids that disruption. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our prices page.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Don’t ignore a tray that flexes
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water can get through to the floor and walls, and the damage below is not visible.
