Shower tray repair in Moorepark

Shower tray repair in Moorepark without replacing anything

Shower tray repairs are one of our most common jobs. Chips by the waste, cracks across the base and dull, stained surfaces can all be put right without removing the tray. We regularly repair cast iron, stone resin and enamelled steel, and people most frequently call us about a crack across the base and scratches in the surface.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Moorepark as everywhere else we work.

What your shower tray is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are heavy and rigid with a gel-coat finish. Poor support underneath leads to cracks, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Keep heavy bottles off the tray floor, so they can’t be knocked over.

Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.

Repairing versus replacing in Moorepark

Replacing a tray generally means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. Repairing it avoids all of that. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colour-matched on site

See our full price list.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A tray broken in more than one place
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Stone resin
  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic
  • Ceramic
  • Cast iron

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the whole tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the entire tray.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can typically be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. Try to include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire shower tray
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.
