Bath repair at your home in Glasgow
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the next day. Our technicians work on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about chips from dropped bottles, tiles or tools and scratches and burns.
Most bath damage starts with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust once water gets in. Acrylic baths, on the other hand, tend to crack if they aren’t properly supported, usually near the taps or the waste.
When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.
