For landlords and businesses
If you manage property in Newmachar, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Newmachar use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
Should you replace it?
A new shower tray normally involves removing the screen and tiling, relaying the base and re-tiling. Repairing or resurfacing the tray leaves all of that alone. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Newmachar. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
What you get with us

DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
When a repair isn’t the answer
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Leaking waste fittings
- A tray broken in more than one place
- Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Enamelled steel
- Stone resin
- Ceramic
- Cast iron
- Acrylic
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Store bottles off the tray
- Use the extractor fan
- Give the tray a quick rinse after use
- Report any creaking or movement early
Keep heavy bottles off the tray floor, to avoid chips.
Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.
The process
We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- We make sure the tray does not flex and look for the cause of any crack.
- We clean and prepare the damaged area or the entire tray.
- Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
- We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the whole tray.
- The tray is left to cure and can normally be used the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Ask for a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Stone resin
Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. They crack if the base isn’t fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
What we’re called out for in Newmachar
Most chips come from things dropped in the shower, typically on the edges or near the plughole.
Common reasons people in Newmachar contact us are:
