Norwich: your questions answered
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Norwich included. There is no extra charge for travel.
What do you need from me?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It fades as everything cures.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
How long does it take to cure?
Usually the following day. We’ll confirm before we leave.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
Can you quote from pictures?
Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
Is a cracked shower tray safe to use?
We’d stop using it until it’s repaired, in case water is getting through.
Shower tray repair at your home in Norwich
You do not always need a new tray. If it’s solid underneath, it can normally be repaired in place, saving you the cost and mess of a new one. We are often asked to fix movement when you stand on it and a damaged area around the waste, on acrylic, stone resin and enamelled steel.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.
Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Repair or replace in Norwich?
The tray is generally the last thing fitted and the first thing tiled up to, so taking one out disturbs a lot. A repair keeps everything as it is. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
What you get with us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- One-year guarantee on every repair

The process
There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, tidy-up included.
- First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
- Next we clean and prepare the tray.
- We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
- We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the entire tray.
- We leave it to cure; the shower is usually usable the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Make sure the room can be ventilated

What else we do in Norwich
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:
- The material
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Access to the area
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- Where you are, by postcode
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Something in shot to show the size
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
DIY kit or professional repair?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
Different materials, different repairs
Stone resin
Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. Poor support underneath leads to cracks, and chips can be filled and matched.
Ceramic
Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and the repair is polished to match the shine.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Stick to gentle cleaners
- Replace failing sealant promptly
- Do not use strong acids or bleach
- Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.
Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water may be getting under the tray, where it causes damage you can’t see.
