Shower tray repair near Park Bridge

Shower tray repair in Park Bridge without replacing anything

You do not always need a new tray. If it’s firmly supported, we can repair it where it is, saving you the cost and mess of a new one. Our technicians work on stone resin, enamelled steel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are movement when you stand on it and scuffs and light scratches.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Trays cracked in several places
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Do you need shower tray repair in Park Bridge?

Most cracked trays are trays that flex: without a solid, level base underneath, it flexes each time someone stands on it. Chips typically come from dropped bottles.

Most people contact us after spotting something like this:

  • A cracked shower tray
  • Edge chips from dropped bottles
  • Staining and dullness across the tray
  • Chips caused during fitting

What to look for in a quote

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Our hiring checklist

What your shower tray is made of matters

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are rigid and slim. A flat, solid base is essential, and repairs are matched to the gel coat.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can generally be used the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Park Bridge. What changes the price is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Getting a price from photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the whole shower tray
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Check the seal every few months
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Get a moving tray checked

Keep heavy bottles off the tray floor, to avoid chips.

Act on split sealant early. It lets water behind the tray and can cause damage underneath.

Repair or replace: which is better?

The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. A repair is one visit. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.
