Shower tray repair in Rednal, done in place

We check the tray before repairing it: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, or the crack will come back. We will tell you if that’s the case. Whether it’s damage from a refit or building work and chipped corners or rims, we can usually put it right, on ceramic, enamelled steel and stone resin alike.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Questions from Rednal

Do you reseal the tray as well?

Yes. Add it to your quote and we will do both on one visit.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Is it OK to use a cracked tray?

Only if you are sure it isn’t leaking. Look for damp or stains below.

What does shower tray repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Rednal. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you make an old tray look new?

Yes. A full resurface makes a tired tray look fresh.

Common problems we fix in Rednal

Trays crack mainly because they move: if a tray wasn’t bedded on a solid, even base, it flexes each time someone stands on it. Dropped bottles cause most chips.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Scratches from cleaning or grit
  • Damage around the waste
  • Movement when you stand on it
  • Chips on the edges

Choosing a repair company

Landlords, agents and businesses in Rednal

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Birmingham and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First, we check whether the tray moves.
  2. We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
  3. Cracks are reinforced and the damage filled.
  4. We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
  5. It’s left to cure, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the tray is solid and the crack hasn’t let water spread, repair is usually best. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

Different materials, different repairs

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Acrylic

Acrylic trays are lighter and slightly flexible, so good support matters. Cracks and scratches can be repaired.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Do not ignore a tray that flexes
  • Do not use strong acids or bleach
  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner

Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water can get through to the floor and walls, and the damage below is not visible.

What a repair can’t fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
