Shower tray repair for Splatt homes

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the entire shower tray
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

How we handle shower tray repair in Splatt

In most cases, a damaged tray can be repaired where it is, from chipped edges to cracks across the floor of the tray. The colour and finish are matched. We are frequently asked to fix damage from a refit or building work and chips or cracks by the plughole, across stone resin, acrylic and enamelled steel.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Splatt and across Somerset.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Splatt questions

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Do you cover the whole of Somerset?

Everywhere in the UK, Splatt included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you need shower tray repair in Splatt?

Rigid trays don’t bend, they crack when they sit on an uneven or poorly supported floor. Timber floors that move can cause it too.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • A cracked shower tray
  • Scuffs and light scratches
  • Chips on the edges

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • Aftercare advice
  • What prep work is covered

Choosing a repair company

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. We refinish the surface to match the tray.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Should you replace it?

Trays sit under the screen and tiles, so taking one out disturbs a lot. Repairing it avoids that disruption. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Splatt. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Rinse the tray after use, clean with mild cleaners, and keep the sealant in good condition so water cannot get underneath.

A small crack lets in a little water every time you shower, which can damage the floor over time. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.
