Shower tray repair near St Hilary

What your shower tray is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. They need a flat, solid base, and we match repairs to the surface finish.

About our shower tray repair in St Hilary

In most cases, a damaged tray can be repaired where it is, from a chip by the waste to a crack across the base. The colour and finish are matched so the repair blends in. Common call-outs are for staining and dullness across the tray and movement when you stand on it, in ceramic, stone resin and enamelled steel.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How we price shower tray repair

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for St Hilary. What changes the price is:

  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. Try to include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the whole shower tray
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

When to call us in St Hilary

Dull and stained trays are generally down to cleaning: abrasive pads, strong chemicals and limescale wear the finish away.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A tray that flexes
  • Scratches in the surface
  • Chipped corners or rims
  • A dull, stained or worn surface

Questions to ask before booking

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a tray usually means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. A repair leaves all of that untouched, at a fraction of the cost. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • No need to remove anything
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First, we check whether the tray moves.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned and opened up.
  3. Cracks are reinforced and the damage filled.
  4. We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
  5. It’s left to cure, generally until the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Don’t ignore a tray that flexes
  • Rinse away soap after showering

Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.

A tray that moves underfoot needs looking at, before it cracks.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cornwall and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.
