Shower tray repair at your home in Swindon

You do not always need a new tray. If it’s firmly supported, we can repair it where it is, which is far less work than a replacement. Common call-outs are for scratches in the surface and a damaged area around the waste, on stone resin, acrylic and enamelled steel.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We make sure the tray doesn’t flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is generally usable the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so good support matters. Cracks and scratches can be repaired.

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Chips can rust if they’re left, so it’s worth repairing early.

What we cannot put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Plumbing leaks under the tray
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Signs you need shower tray repair in Swindon

Rigid trays do not bend, they crack if the floor beneath them isn’t flat and fully supported. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A tray that flexes
  • Staining and dullness across the tray
  • A damaged area around the waste
  • Snagging damage in a new bathroom

Our hiring checklist

Why repair rather than replace?

The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. A repair is one visit. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Landlord and trade work in Swindon

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Swindon and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

For anyone letting property in or around Swindon, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
