The Grange: your questions answered
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.
What does shower tray repair cost?
Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your EH9 postcode.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can a cracked shower tray be repaired?
In most cases. A tray that moves needs its support sorting before the repair.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
How do I book?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a tray usually means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. A repair leaves all of that untouched, at a fraction of the cost. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

When we’d advise against a repair
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Trays cracked in several places
- Plumbing leaks under the tray
- A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What shower tray repair costs
Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to The Grange. The price comes down to:
- The type of damage
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How much damage there is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for The Grange. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Something in shot to show the size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
Most clients in The Grange get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
How the visit works
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.
- The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
- Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
- The tray is cleaned, keyed and repaired.
- The surface is refinished to match.
- We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.
How to prepare
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Work for landlords and builders
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Grange use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.
What your shower tray is made of matters
Stone resin
Stone resin trays are heavy and rigid with a gel-coat finish. They crack if the base isn’t fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.
Enamelled steel
Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple:
- Don’t use strong acids or bleach
- Check the seal every few months
- Use the extractor fan
- Stick to gentle cleaners
Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.
Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.
