Shower tray repair at your home in Three Ashes

A cracked or chipped shower tray does not always need replacing. If it’s firmly supported, we can repair it where it is, which is far less work than a replacement. We are frequently asked to fix snagging damage in a new bathroom and edge chips from dropped bottles, across enamelled steel, stone resin and acrylic.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

How we price shower tray repair

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tray usually means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. Repairing it avoids all of that, at a fraction of the cost. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

How the visit works

We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We make sure the tray doesn’t flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the whole tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, you can use the shower.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Plumbing leaks under the tray
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron
  • Enamelled steel
  • Ceramic
  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray

Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and reseal when it starts to fail.

Failed sealant around a tray should be replaced quickly. Water gets behind and under the tray and can damage the floor below.
