Shower tray repair in Worcester, done in place

Before repairing a crack, we find out why it happened. A tray that moves needs its support sorting first, so the crack does not come back. We are frequently asked to fix a damaged area around the waste and a crack across the base, on acrylic, ceramic and enamelled steel.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Ventilate the room after showers
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach
  • Do not ignore a tray that flexes
  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf

Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.

Failed sealant around a tray should be replaced quickly. It lets water behind the tray and can cause damage underneath.

Different materials, different repairs

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

When a repair is not the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A tray that moves underfoot
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the floor and the enclosure.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. The tray is cleaned, keyed and repaired.
  4. We refinish the surface to match the tray.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Worcester. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A photo taken from further back

Common questions in Worcester

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Do you redo the sealant?

Yes. Add it to your quote and we will do both on one visit.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK. Prices do not change with location.

Can you make an old tray look new?

Yes, it’s a common job. Resurfacing gives a worn tray an even, clean finish.

Should you replace it?

A new shower tray frequently means a new enclosure fitting, new tiling and new sealant. Repairing it avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
