What affects the price in March

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for March. What changes the price is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the entire basin
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Do I need to be at home?

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Avoid strong bleach and descalers
  • Use gentle cleaners
  • Fittings shouldn’t be over-tightened
  • Get chips repaired early

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy bottles or appliances into the basin.

Cracks by the tap holes can grow, so it’s worth having it checked quickly. If water is getting through, isolate the basin until it’s seen to.

Should you replace it?

Basins are frequently built into vanity units or tiled in, so changing one disturbs the surroundings. Repairing it keeps everything as it is. Our sink repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in March as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. The room is left tidy.

  1. The vanity, floor and taps are protected.
  2. We clean and prepare the chip or crack.
  3. It’s filled and shaped to the basin.
  4. We match the colour by hand.
  5. We polish it to match the shine and leave it to cure.

Advice

What your basin is made of matters

Composite and resin

Cast mineral and resin basins are common in vanity units. Chips and scratches can be filled and matched, and the colour is mixed to suit.

Period and antique

Period basins often have marks and character worth keeping. We repair carefully around original features and leave the character intact.
