Tile repair in Aston

How we handle tile repair in Aston

We repair the tile in place, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will tell you. Whether it’s chips from dropped pans and tools and cracked floor tiles, we can help.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Aston as everywhere else we work. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Repair or replace in Aston?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price

Advice

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Aston: your questions answered

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you cover the whole of Flintshire?

Across the UK, and that includes Aston. Our prices are the same everywhere.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

10 questions to ask before booking

What tile repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
