Need tile repair in Aston Heath?

Tile repair at your home in Aston Heath

We repair the tile in place, so you do not need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. Common call-outs are for damaged tile edges and drill holes from removed fittings, on natural stone & granite, ceramic tiles and floor and wall tiles.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Aston Heath questions

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Typically, if it isn’t loose.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Aston Heath included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. We fill drill holes from removed fittings.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Aston Heath as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Derbyshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the whole tiled area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace in Aston Heath?

Swapping out a damaged tile means breaking it out, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

What a repair can’t fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
