Tile repair for Austerlands homes

Tile repair in Austerlands, done in place

We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. Typical jobs include chips from dropped pans and tools and discontinued tiles you can’t replace, in ceramic tiles, marble and floor and wall tiles.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Questions from Austerlands

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Do you work in Austerlands?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Austerlands and the rest of Oldham. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

What does tile repair cost?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair keeps the original tile. Our tile repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Take a look at our prices page.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours, tidy-up included.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Landlords, agents and businesses in Austerlands

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

What we cannot put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Porcelain tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Marble

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

When to call us in Austerlands

Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, while walls end up with drill holes from old fittings. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Cracked floor tiles
  • Damaged tile edges
  • Chips from dropped pans and tools
  • Discontinued tiles you can’t replace

How we price tile repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
