Busveal questions

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you cover Busveal?

We do. We send a technician to Busveal for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

What do you need from me?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

What about drill holes in tiles?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Tile repair in Busveal, done in place

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. We repair the tile in place, so you do not need to find a spare. We work on ceramic tiles, floor and wall tiles and natural stone & granite, and common reasons people contact us are chips from dropped pans and tools and drill holes from removed fittings.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

For anyone letting property in or around Busveal, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

Do you need tile repair in Busveal?

Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Damaged tile edges
  • Drill holes from removed fittings
  • Cracked floor tiles
  • Chips from dropped pans and tools

What your quote should include

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How your room will be protected

Choosing a repair company

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Read our full price list.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Busveal. The price comes down to:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire tiled area
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
