Need tile repair in Dungeness?

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

About our tile repair in Dungeness

We repair the tile in place, so you do not need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. Whether it’s discontinued tiles you can’t replace and damaged tile edges, we can help, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

The process

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

When to call us in Dungeness

Floor tiles chip when pans, tins and tools are dropped, while walls end up with drill holes from old fittings. Movement underneath can also crack tiles.

  • Damaged tile edges
  • Drill holes from removed fittings
  • Chips from dropped pans and tools
  • Cracked floor tiles

Before you book anyone

  • What prep work is covered
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long it needs to cure

How to compare quotes

What a repair cannot fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Porcelain tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Marble

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. A repair keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Questions from Dungeness

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How do I get a price for tile repair in Dungeness?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your TN29 postcode.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
